Scholarly Interests: My sociological interests are focused on aspects of social control as a process and outcome, with special attention to the criminal justice system as a locus for race, class, and gender inequalities.  My current research is focused on police reliance on extra-legal factors in decision-making, especially racial discrimination, or racial profiling, by police.
