Sociology Graduates Make Their Next Career Moves

Good news! 

Patrick Archer (M.A. '03) has accepted a faculty tenure-track position in the Sociology Department at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, starting Fall 2009.  He received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 2008.  Pat and his wife Lindsay welcomed their second son Charles O'Brien in March 2009.

Kristie Crane Bongiovanni (M.A. '99) has been offered a position as Advisor/Assistant to the Chair in the Sociology Department at NIU.  For the last eight years, she has been working as the Undergraduate Advisor on a "temporary basis." Her new and official position will include advising, teaching one course a semester, and serving as assistant to the department chair.

Krista Clark Cline (M.A. '02) has accepted a tenure-track faculty position at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, starting Fall 2009.  She received her Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2007.

Justin Hoy (B.A. '04) has accepted a tenure-track position at McHenry Community College.  Justin received his M.A. in Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  He taught as an instructor at NIU during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Michelle Scott (M.A. '08) has been hired by the Consortium on Chicago School Research at the University of Chicago as a Data Archivist/Analyst.

John Woo (M.A. '09) has been accepted to the Ph.D. program in Sociology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
