Scholarly Interests: My research and teaching pursuits are at the intersection of cultural sociology and urban sociology. My approach to culture is practice-based, and focused on emotion as the primary foundation for meaningful experiences. My urban emphasis is derived from a belief that the material environment functions as a set of physical structures dialectially connected to individual action.
